Read this page and contact me before you consider starting a wall printing business by purchasing a printer from THE WALL PRINTER in Wilmington NC.
I have 15 years experience in the printing industry and when I came across a short video of the a wall printing machine being advertised by The Wall Printer out of Wilmington NC, I set up a call to learn more. I could see the potential and was sold on the representation that the printer was "trouble free" with regular use, that breakdowns were rare, and that it prints high quality on a reliable basis.
The truth is this machine broke down within days of my taking ownership and the issues never stopped. Clogs, glitches, software crashes and inconsistent quality output killed my new business in 8 months.
Output Quality
I managed to post good looking pictures and videos of this machine at work on social media as well as pictures of the end results, but what you don't see is the amount of headache it took to get those images.
The success rate of this machine completing a wall printing of acceptable quality is about 30%. When a graphic is loaded on the printer's computer and the machine is set up along the wall to be printed, you have one shot. Once you tap "Print" on the touch screen, that's it. When something goes wrong mid-print, you have no alternative but to paint over it and return a few days later to redo it. There goes your profit.

Machine issues
The owner and reps at The Wall Printer will tell you that regular use and cleaning will prevent print quality issues. HOWEVER, clogs and what they call "banding" still occurs even with daily use and performing all of their recommended maintenance and cleaning. FURTHERMORE, when you're on a job, and the machine is at 90% completion on a 2-hour printing, one of the ink channels can STILL clog and you have no other choice but to paint over and reprint the entire thing.
It's entirely unpredictable and unpreventable.
Software Crashes
This was fun. After 7 months of spotty print jobs, the software starts crashing. Of course this would happen in the middle of the print job. Again, the only solution is to paint over and restart the job and hope it doesn't happen again.
Their tech help was puzzled by this. They had us reinstall the same software, but it didn't fix it.
They do honor their warranty by sending replacement parts, but it's up to you to disassemble the machine and install them. In my case, the downtime was causing us to delay scheduled print jobs and cancel quotes.
This was killing my business reputation from the get-go.

$70,000 down the drain. I was fully capitalized and committed to making this business a success. I hired two employees, contracted graphic artists, and committed to local television advertising as well as weekly social media posts.
The ONLY reason West Texas Wall Printing failed to succeed is because of the unreliability of the printing equipment sold by The Wall Printer in Wilmington, NC.
They downplay issues, omit problems, and flat out lie about the machine's capability and reliability during the sales presentation.
THIS MACHINE IS A PIECE OF JUNK.
Now I have had to hire an attorney to get my money back from them.
Seriously, if you are considering starting a business with this equipment, call me first.
